So... what's next?
Víctor Bárcena on his past and future steps in filmmaking
It is necessary to declare here that, in an exercise of marked coherence with an artistic devoted dedication, the only purpose that has guided each and every one of my single steps towards the final text of the script for 'Épiphanie' in its present version is the will to bring to light a piece full of signification by itself, and with a strong entity, that is not merely the threshold one should go through in order to be able to film another one, nor considered minor because of the format under which it finally found the chance to end existing.
Many decisions and determined marks of style have been made part of this story, mostly due to the conscience of its timing characteristics, providing the opportunity to accomplish an amazing technical exercise in which its final form has not pretended to imitate that of longer running time formats, but to reclaim strongly the concision and brevity under which it was to be born.
Nevertheless, and although it would formally provide a radically different result, it is clear that the dramatic facts that are the base for this tale, the underlying story of whose depiction it is in charge, is so rich in details and imbrications that, with an adequate time development, it could perfectly provide us with a marvellous feature length film script, or even with that of a TV series.
Therefore, it is an aim of my strongest determination to develop such scripts, so that, when the distribution stage of 'Épiphanie' has begun, and perhaps encouraged by the impulse it could gain, there is a concluded feature length film script and TV series pilot episode script, both finally completed, that could be pitched to production industry professionals, trying to so procure the beginning of the production of that new project. And that could imply for me, and for as many other members of the cast and crew present during the production of 'Épiphanie' as wanted to do so, to take a big step forward, one more, in our international film industry careers.
